Description: Katsuko is a rowdy, athletic girl from Osaka. While in Osaka, she had a “rival” who was her equal in sports. These two would always try to outdo each other, which gave Katsuko her competitive spirit. Although these two acted like they hated each other, they both saw their rivalry as a different kind of friendship. Upon transferring to Hikari’s school, Katsuko gained a lot of attention from her peers by becoming the top athlete in the school. Her increase in popularity got to her head a bit, so she became self-centered and braggy, causing her to lose friends. Hikari saw how isolated Katsuko was and managed to befriend her, despite her occasional rudeness. Katsuko eventually became less egocentric, although she still tends to show off every now and then.

Katsuko's character is based on another character I made for a now-cancelled fanime. She may also be slightly inspired by a mean girl I tried really hard to make friends with in elementary school (unlike Katsuko, she actually was a mega-bitch and I was too young to figure out that some people can't be changed).

The name Katsuko roughly means "victorious child". Her name was originally Kazeko (roughly meaning "wind"), but I changed it so that it would fit her personality better and wouldn't blatantly reveal her element.
